Case Study of Infantile Autism

Abstract

|
Four cases of Infantile Autism were pnesented and their recovering processes were reviewed. They were selected among autistic children whom the author had treated at Department of Neuropsychiatry,St. Mary¢¥s Hospital, Catholic Medical College in 1979. They were three boys and a girl.
The author¢¥s method of treatment was to aid more social and linguistic dvelopment in spite of cognitive deficits. The author tried to use patient¢¥s mother as a therapeutic tool. They were induced to walk into the autistic world of their children and rescue them from there. It was proved to be effective as far as anthor¢¥s experiences wene Concerned.
Further and more intensive researches are required to evaluate the author¢¥s method of treatment. The author hopes to have these researches and studies about general aspects of Infantile Autism in Korea in near fnture.
